Dieter Köfler

Before the gates of ducal town of St. Veit an der Glan, Köfler's Ranftlhof stables crouch down on a gentle hillock. Here, the sure instincts of Dieter Köfler get many horses back into shape. The Carinthian champion has for years been one of Austria's most consistent show jumpers.

Dieter grew up with equestrian sports and entered his first tournaments aged just 10. Following his training, he bought a farm in St. Veit, renovated it and gradually adapted it to serve as a stables. From spring to late autumn, Dieter Köfler spends almost every weekend at an event. Nowadays, even the winter break is rather short and driving the 24-ton lorry on snow is not easy. But humans are incredible at adapting to all kinds of situations.. “I always bring between four and six horses,” says Dieter Köfler. One of his favourite tournaments is held in San Giovanni near Rimini in spring while Lamprechtshausen ranks among Köfler’s Austrian favourites. But he is also a regular in Linz, where he could win the Nations Cup, the Grand Prix and the National Championships. Köfler entered World and European Championships as well as countless domestic and international tournaments.
