Belinda Weinbauer
Aged 8, Belinda Weinbauer discovered a show jumping stable close to her aunt‘s weekend home and immediately wanted to start riding horses. Her family told her she had to wait until she turned 9 and thought she would have forgotten the whole matter by then. That didn’t happen and from age 9, it was Belinda’s grandpa, in particular, who regularly took her horse riding and showed lots of support. Today, she is a National Champion and says about her victory: “I never thought I would win as I have only been riding this horse for some 2 months. In fact, I only went to the National Championships to get the scouts’ attention. With a flawless performance – I speculated – the bronze medal may be in reach. Winning the title was unbelievable.”
As a successful dressage rider, you need discipline and patience, says Belinda Weinbauer. To be suitable for dressage, a horse needs three good gaits, a good attitude and it should be flexible and mobile.
