Gudrun Pirker

Gudrun Pirker’s grandfather had already ridden horses, even if involuntarily during the war. She wanted a rocking horse when she was little, but soon, that wouldn’t do it for her any longer. At age 15, Gudrun Pirker was given a Trakehner mare, a horse hardly ideal for a newcomer. Husband and wife Kaltenegger supported her passionately and even let her borrow one of their horses which was much easier to control than her mare. This difficult start did not keep Pirker from continuing to work extensively with horses and today, her daughter follows suit.
